"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep" Romans 12:15
Sister-2-Sister Discipleship Group
Our heart's burden is to bring comfort, love and support to so many of our sisters in Christ who are hurting. We purpose to do this by connecting Godly women who are mature and strong in the faith with our sisters who are spiritually undeveloped and facing life difficulties on a daily basis. Many of our sisters in Christ are feeling weighed down by such issues as homelessness, poverty, single parenting and unemployment with no hope of ever overcoming these obstacles.
Unfortunately, so many of our sisters struggle with these issues year after year which sometimes lead to drug abuse, abusive relationships and other destructive behaviors. Many of whom are left feeling abandoned with hearts full of resentment, anger, and bitterness toward others, especially God and His church.
Romans 12:15 tells us that as believers we should rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. In other words, when one believer is experiencing continuous hardship, then we are all experiencing the same; and when one believer is experiencing continuous prosperity and peace, then we are all experiencing the same. No woman should feel alone and unsupported, especially a woman who is of the household of faith.
Sister-2-Sister Discipleship Group's purpose is to connect mature Christian women with other women of the faith who are in need of encouragement and temporary support with basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter: as well as other needs such as transportation, co-parenting and financial support.
Sisters Strong Ministries is committed to fulfilling this mandate one sister at a time. Hebrews 13:16 tells us to not forget to do good and to share our material goods, wealth, and gifts with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Additionally, the bible says as we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (Gal 6:10)
With these scriptures in mind, our goal is to build up and encourage our sisters in the things of God; not just in words, but also in deeds and in truth. Things of God such as the importance and power of praying and worshiping during difficult times, applying biblical truths to everyday living, or the principle of sowing to reap a good harvest. We believe that in order for our sisters in Christ to move past life's tribulations to the experience of all that God has for them, we need to support and disciple them in their time of need. Our goal is to reach out to our sisters who are experiencing a sense of helplessness and despair to establish an on-going relationship through one-on-one discipleship, bible studies, life skills classes and prayer and worship meetings.
We desire to see our sisters in Christ strengthen from the inside out through the power of God's Word so that the life of despair and cycle of destructive behaviors be stopped. Luke 22 says that if we hear the word of God, see the Word of God and understand the Word of God, we can be converted into that word that we see hear and understand. Once converted, our sisters can now prevail over their troubles and live life from a place of victory.
Sister-2-Sister 2fold Purpose:
1) To help our sisters who are in need of discipleship and support grow strong in the faith of God so as to overcome their habitual life struggles in order to begin to live a prosperous and victorious life.
2) To encourage mature women of God, especially those who may have experienced similar life struggles, to share their biblical wisdom, life victories, and material wealth with other sisters in Christ who are in need of one-on-one discipleship and support.
Our mission is to achieve this one woman, one community, and one city at a time through one-on-one discipleship.
TO APPOINT UNTO THEM THAT MOURN IN ZION,
TO GIVE UNTO THEM BEAUTY FOR ASHES,
THE OIL OF JOY FOR MOURNING,
THE GARMENT OF PRAISE FOR THE SPIRIT OF HEAVINESS;
THAT THEY MIGHT BE CALLED TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,
THE PLANTING OF THE LORD, THAT HE MIGHT BE GLORIFIED.
